Also included in the June 11th Antiquorum watch auction is this Cartier Pasha watch model that was a gift from Rat Packer Frank Sinatra to other fellow Rat Packer Sammy Davis Jr. The watch auction comes with news photos of Davis Jr. wearing the watch, while the rear of the watch still bears the engraving by Sinatra that reads, "Sammy, I Luv Ya, F.A.S." A highly collectible item for Cartier fans and Rat Pack devotees alike. The 18k gold Pasha wa

tch is printed with its manufacture date of 1987, and bears a quartz movement, being the "in" thing of the time. Today this would lead you to believe that Sinatra might have been miserly with his gift, but this was not the case in the late 80's when quartz movement based watches were much more popular than mechanical ones. The watch complications include the time, date with day, moon phase, and second time zone. The watch is very rare, and is estimated to go for a likely lower than actual auction price of $10,000 - $20,000. Metallics aren't usually my favorite but something about this Metallic Fabric Tote by Stella McCartney really caught my eye. It's a pretty burnished brass color that acts as a neutral as far as pairing it with outfits goes, and it has a little bit of a "structure forced to go casual" vibe about it that I really like. A wide beige strap ties around the center,

ki/Saint_Peter%27s_Square">Piazza di San Pietro (Saint Peter's Square) watches for $2,500 down from the standard price of $3,300. This is a significant discount, and apt for the occasion. I'll be the first to say that it is ironic that an Israeli brand is celebrating a Catholic event, but that event will take place in Israel - so it's all good. The Itay Noy City Square Collection of watches is pretty cool. They take an aerial view map of an area, and turn it into a Google Maps like image for the dial of the watch. Looking at the dial, you are reminded of the region all the time. Saint Peter's square in the Vatican City within Rome, is one of the most famous landmarks in the world, and makes a great center for a watch face given its relative radial symmetry. The watch itself is 42.4mm wide in stainless steel all hand assembled with a Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic mechanical movement inside. The Itay Noy City Square Piazza di San Pietro is part of a limited edition of just 99 watches, so this special offer is made even better by that fact. The $2,500 price is available only during May 8 - 15, 2009. To learn more or get your watch visit Itay Noy here. I received word sometime ago that Jorg Hysek is no longer an actual part of Jorg Hysek watches, and the newest line of these branded watches that arrived this year (including the pictured Kilada Power Reserve watch) are increasingly evident of this. Over time, the actually good designs that Jorg Hysek left are increasingly being morphed with unrefined derivatives like this model. The "Hysek" component just seems to be increasingly missing from the

timepiece line. That isn't to say that each new watch the Hysek brand releases is a dog, but there are too many models, with too little soul. So if you are a fan, make sure to search out the models that are the most attractive. The materials and construction of the watches are fine and totally commendable. So if you are keen on the looks, have no worries about getting one or learning more. This pictured model enjoys a 41mm wide DLC coated steel and rose gold case with sapphire crystal. The watch is meant to be sporty but chic. It succeeds in being somewhat both of them, but after the novelty factor wears off, you are left with a design that feels less than cohesive. Inside is a mechanical Swiss movement with an unannounced price that is likely over $25,000. Ariel Adams publishes the popular watch review site aBlogtoRead.com.

has received a !9-year sentence for the murder of Lana Clarkson he is looking to sell the home and his collection of music memorabilia, much of it from people he worked with as a music producer, to fund his appeal. Spector bought the castle in 1998 for $1.1 million, telling Esquire magazine: "I've brought myself a beautiful and enchanting castle in a hick town." The hilltop abode's surrounding walls bear a sign that reads "Phil Spector's Pyrenees Castle."The 30-room mansion has a past of its own. It was built by Sylvester Dupuy who spared no expense to create a home that replicated a chateau he had seen in France. His version has 10-bedrooms, a game room, breakfast room and a large wine cellar. Dupuy lost most of his fortune in oil investments shortly before his death in 1936 and in 1946, the castle was sold and converted into an eight-unit apartment dwelling. It changed hands a few more times over the years and all sorts of legends have sprung up about the home. Jurors got a tour of the home during Spector's murder trial. How much is the castle worth? According to the Times article, the home where Clarkson was murdered could only be worth around $1 million. Will Phil Spector Sell His Home To Raise Cash? originally appeared on Luxist on Sun, 31 May 2009 18:01:00 EST.
